Boca Raton Executive Club Hosts Share Ross At Woodfield Country Club

Share Ross is best known as the former bassist for platinum selling all female rockers, Vixen. From a musical background and an education at Berklee she cut her teeth on the Minneapolis jazz scene before performing in every continental state in the US. She scraped up extra change working as crew and sailed the Caribbean for six months surviving a hurricane at sea. She had two back operations and kicked a hospital morphine habit. All of this before the age of 21, and before launching a successful career as bassist for the platinum-selling rock band Vixen. Join us November 2nd for our next Executive Club meeting featuring Share Ross.

These days, Share Ross rocks audiences with “Unleash Your Inner Rock Star,” a rock n roll ride with inspiration and stories to connect everyone. Before that she was a session musician for people like Helen Reddy, The Coasters, The Drifters and several jazz big bands. Raised in Minnesota by a wonderful father and a very musical mother whose six brothers and sisters all played multiple instruments as did Grandma and Grandpa which resulted in wild jam sessions every time that side came to visit. Eventually, Share chose bass after being well schooled on piano and messing around with guitar. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston as a bass player and composer.

At one of her session gigs in Los Angeles, the guitarist for Vixen, Jan Kuehnemund saw her playing and gave Share her phone number. A couple of months later, Share called her up hoping to connect with Vixen and meet other people in that scene. Funny thing was, she called on the very day that Vixen fired their bassist. A few weeks later, she was firmly ensconced in the band and shortly thereafter, the band was signed to EMI Records. Vixen toured heavily, playing an average of 320 gigs per year. Eddie Money, Bad Company, Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS and The Scorpions were the acts that brought Vixen out on tour with them.

Share was asked to be part of the ‘super group’ Contraband and the band rehearsed and recorded a bunch of cover tracks. It was at this time that Vixen realized there was some bad blood between their manager and their record label. Vixen discovered they no longer had a record deal by reading about it in Billboard magazine when the then-President of EMI announced he would no longer work with any artists or bands managed by Allan Kovac. After Vixen, Share went on to become an award winning songwriter with her husband, Bam. Their song, Sparkle Star won the Song of the Year in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. She was also honored to win Best Female Guitarist two years in a row in Los Angeles.

Enter: Reinvention. Realizing that she by removing limiting beliefs about herself she could do anything, Share began a life long pursuit of launching careers and reinventing herself. Most notably, in the knitting craze that swept the nation in 2003, Share learned to knit. Within a year, she had secured a publishing deal with Stewart, Tabori and Chang, part of the Harry Abrams group for her knitting book, Punk Knits which features her designs and all of the models are her rock n roll friends in Hollywood.

In 2007, she studied options trading and to this day, trades iron condors, butterflies and other income spreads. Currently, Share pursues a raw vegan lifestyle and is the host of three online video shows:

1. A music news show - Rock n Roll TV - http://www.rocknrolltv.net./

2. A satire news show - Nearly The News - http://www.nearlythenews.com/

3. A Netflix movie review show - Add 2 Q - http://add2q.mevio.com/

After joining Toastmasters and winning numerous speech contests, she has realized her passion for sharing her message. She wants you to release your inner rockstar and become anything and everything you've ever dreamed of!
